Covestro Develops New Prefabricated Component Technology Using Polyurethane to Create Superior Wallboard
Covestro LLC is a leading high-tech polymer supplier. The company developed PUReWall, a new polyurethane panel wall technology, and won the Nomination for the 2017 Polyurethane Innovation Award. The award was initiated by the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry to recognize companies and individuals who have created new products, technologies and solutions with great foresight and perseverance.
Eric Rexrode, R&D director of hard materials division of Covestro, explained: “In Covestro, innovation is the direction of our efforts. We are striving to develop breakthrough chemical and application technologies for the markets we serve.” He added , "PUReWall proves that we can develop advanced products through the innovation of polyurethane chemistry. We are honored to receive the Nomination Award for the Polyurethane Innovation Award."
The all board is used to build a home, which is manufactured in a controlled environment of the panel factory and then installed on the construction site. This high structural strength and high performance wallboard uses rigid polyisocyanurate foam boards to replace traditional exterior wall building forms, while using a new type of sealing structure for polyurethane spray foam formulations, resulting in high structural strength and Energy-efficient wallboard.
Jim Lambach, manager of construction and construction at Polyurethane Industrial Marketing at Covestro, said: “PUReWall is a new building technology that takes full advantage of polyurethane's superior chemical properties.” “We not only want to promote this technology in a larger market. In the process, we also advocate the use of polyurethane in the entire construction industry.”
