What are the advantages of the magnetic box?
Precast concrete magnets are a useful and high-tech method of securing a formwork to a casting bed. They are made of rare earth materials and have a higher drawing strength than other magnet materials. The magnet is designed such that the magnetic portion is laminated with steel to diffuse the magnetic flux, thereby increasing the contact area.
The outer casing then surrounds the magnet to prevent damage, or steel can be used to secure the outer casing to the magnet. Care should be taken when using the magnet to ensure that the base is clean and free of debris. This debris causes a loss of strength due to the formation of a large air gap between the magnet and the bed.
